Pygmy Rasbora

(Rasbora Maculata)

Picture
The pygmy rasbora is not just the smallest rasbora, it's also one of the smallest cyprinids. Their body is thin and streamlined with varied markings on an orange background. The males have brighter colours than females and have a flatter belly. They should be kept in shoals and will put on a stunning display in a planted aquarium with other small peaceful fish. A pair can be spawned in a planted breeding tank but the adults must be removed after spawning or they will eat their eggs.
