Plecos
Plecos are popular aquarium fish but most species can get quite big. As a result of this, most are not suitable for average community aquariums. They feed using modified suckers and they should be fed sinking tablet foods. Their aquarium shold have stones, sand and bogwood and they will happily spend all day rasping away at this. The difference between the amount of these fish bought impulsivly compared to the amount of people who can actually accomodate an adult one is huge and there are thousands of unwanted plecos in the world that have outgrown their owners aquarium.
