Convict Cichlid

(Heros Nigrofasciatum)

This medium sized cichlid originates from central america. It has a silver body with black stripes running vertically down it from face to the base of the tail. Males may have elongated dorsal fins. they can get quite aggresive in the aquariu and there should be plenty of hiding places in their tank. They will spawn in a bare aquarium with a few rocks and clay flowerpots to provide various spawning sites. They will look after their young in most cases.
