Humpback Limia

(Lima Nigrofasciata)

Picture
This small livebearer may not be the most colourful fish in the world but it is still very pretty in it's own little way. The black barring on the body will show up best under bright lighting and the body colour varies from brown to silver to yellow. As the males mature, they will develop a hump on their heads - hence the name. They are suited to a community aquarium but they may occasionally nibble at the plants, especially soft leaved ones. Females may regularly give birth to broods of around 50 fry.
