Firemouth Cichlid

(Cichlasoma Meeki)

This medium sized cichlid is a good choice for a cichlid only aquarium. They have grey body's with black markings on it and a bright red throat. They should be kept in small groups when young but they may need to be separated as they get older. They may get very aggresive towards other fish when spawning but they show good parental care towards their young. Males may have an elongated dorsal fin.
