Golden Pencilfish
(Nannostomus Beckfordi)
This beautiful pencilfish is fairly small and peaceful, making it a very suitible candidate for a planted community aquarium. They have silver or beige body's with a large black band running horizontally from nose to the base of the tail with golden patches in between. The anal and base of the caudal fin have red markings and the other fins may vary from clear to tinted light blue. They prefer planted aquariums as they can be quite shy and should be kept in groups which will help them feel less nervous. They have small mouths and they may starve if their food is to big so make sure all food is crushed before feeding.
