Claret Betta

(Betta Coccina)

The claret betta is one of the less well known speceis of betta but is still just as colourful as the siamese fighting fish. The males body's are wine red but the females are considerably drabber with brownish colouration. This is one of the more delicate species of fish and the aquarium must have good water quality. males must be kept induvidually as with most bettas or they will fight to the death. They will do best in a planted aquarium.
