Penguin Tetra

(Thayeria boehlkei)

Picture
This medium sized tetra is extremley beautiful and are perfect for a medium sized community aquarium. Their body's are mostly silver apart from a jet black stripe that runs along the middle, continuing down the bottom half of the caudal fin. They should be kept in shoals in a planted aquarium and they should accept most prepared flake foods. Corydoras are a good addition to their aquarium as they will not eat food off the substrate, meaning the water quality could quickly deteriorate due to rotting food.

Max Size: 5cm Temperature: 22-26ºc Ease of Keeping: Moderate Temperament: Peaceful Compatibility: Good Plant Friendly: Yes
