Clown Loach

(Botia Macracanthus)

Picture
The clown loach is one of the larger and more well known species of loach. They should be kept in large aquariums as they do get big. The body is orange with three broad black bands and a dark dorsal fin. Clown loaches do best in groups although larger specimins may occasionally prey on smaller specimins. They have a slightly disconcerting habit of floating on their sides but this is not usually a sign of illness but merely a position in which these fish sometimes rest.
