Rosy Barb

(Barbus Conchonius)

Picture
Rosy barbs are medium sized barbs that are popular in community aquariums. They have a pinkish body that will turn to a stunning shade of redwith good water conditions and a dark spot near the base of the tail. They don't like strong lighting and will do well in a low tech planted medium sized community aquarium. They can be bred in an aquarium with a relativly low water level and fine leaved plants. They are quite hardy and can be housed in coldwater aquariums or small outdoor ponds in tropical parts of the world although they may need to be brought inside for the winter.
