Cherry Barb
(Barbus Titteya)
The cherry barb is a popular aquarium fish, mainly because of the stnning cherry red colouration fully mature males take on when in spawning condition -hence the name. Their bodys are various colours of orang and pink with a dark stripe running down the centre. They are good fish for a community aquarum and do best when kept in a small group. They prefer a planted aquarium and will not nip the fins of long fnned fish like some other barbs may do. They should be bred in a heavily planted community aquarium as their eggs will stick to aquatic plants.
